Still alive...

I have not exactly been flooding you with updates lately, so I guess I should reassure everyone that I am in fact still working on this software.
Version 2.0 is moving along, albeight terribly slowly. I've built a GUI toolkit for a resizable modern (-ish) interface and I think I have the general layout of the new UI finalized. Now I just have to code all the interface features from version 1.0 (again!) and all the new ones you want as well.

Without further ado, here are some previews of 2.0 alpha:

New UI features:
  • Resizable
  • Foldable panels
  • Full, unlimited undo
  • Keyboard shortcuts for edits and operations
  • Popup help
  • Internal drag&drop of sound items
  • Better items listings for better overview
Internally, the layout is skin-managed, which means that sooner or later there will be skinning support as well, even though it is not my highest priority.

So this looks sweet, does it not?

Well, now for the bad news: without going into details, my work situation has taken a turn for the worse, with the startup I've been active in trying to get flying finally going belly-up. The end result might be that I'll have less time to spend on finishing this, and more on trying to make ends meet. Not sure. In any case, it will be some time before this even reaches beta stage.
I hope you remain patient. And buy a T-shirt to show your support.

Happy sampling!

  1. can you assign different samples to different keys on a MIDI controller

  2. Yes, that one of the more fundamental things a sampler does. It is called keyboard mapping. Or am I missing something?

  3. It looks pretty amazing. A few more stereo outputs would be pure decadence. However, it's still possible to create good drumkits even having only four of them. Maybe in the future when you have more time.

  4. I use Cubase, which doesn't allow VSTi audio input routing, so I wrap TX in Bidule and use jsoundbus to wirelessly get audio from an FX bus - as I understand it this is a matter of VST compliancy.
My suggestion is to add a dedicated 'daughter' effect VST plugin to send audio wirelessly to TX(s). This is how fxpansion's Geist does it. I don't know if this is a patented solution, but it would benefit hosts without modular routing.

Though I'll have to rework most of my macros I can't wait to gt v2!

And again, my 2 crucial requests (final mention)
    -more outs
    -full keyboard mapping overview

  5. Ok, expanding my 'more outs' request, maybe the option to discreetly use the outs as stereo or mono = 16 mono or 8 stereo, similar to Kontakt. (sorry for mentioning ™©)?

    Cheers!

  6. Really looking forward to 2.0!

Hope your work issues get resolved.

    Keep on truckin!

PS: I have to agree it's kind of tedious to set this up for drums. Especially since I like pushing certain sounds to separate mono channels in Reaper so I can use its pan envelopes and FX chains.

  7. I must admit, Michael that it is a bit tedious to set it up from scratch for drums, but since you're a Reaper user you should know that it's all about templates to make you work faster. ;) So setup a Drum template program that you load every time, or setup a Reaper template with the TX on it already setup like you like it. I use it like that, too. ;) It's a great sampler. ♥ IT! And I have to thank "Mr. CWi" from the bottom of my heart for it.

I absolutely agree that it would be nice to have more configurable outputs Maker. I also prefer them mono, but more users prefer stereo outputs for some reason. Those are the ones that buy a Roland TR-808 and look for a stereo output on it... LOL and then they say "this thing sucks, it's got only 11 mono outputs and a mono master out". http://www.vintagesynth.com/roland/images/roland_tr808_rear_lg.jpg :) This is actually only an advantage for mixing, and especially for drums. ;)

    Cheers!

    Thank you!

Can't wait for v2. It looks gorgeous and so tidy! The GUI is perfect all the way from colours to usability.

  9. Hey
I've just started playing around with this product.
Very impressed - will have to donate
But yeah - I actually like the current skin - nice retro look.
But of course in the end it is about ease of workflow and functionality so if Version 2 is a big step up then I'm on board.
    Great work
